European Master in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy

Scientific Days Biosphera - October 13th and 14th 2022

On October 13th and 14th 2022, the Graduate School Biosphera - Université Paris Saclay organised the the Scientific Days in AgroParisTech.

Bioceb students (2nd intake, track 1) and Sara Piedrahita Rodríguez (PhD student from the associated partner Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Sede Manizales, invited as a scholar in Bioceb) took part in these Scientific Days.

On October 13th, they attended to several conferences and they presented their posters during the poster sessions.

At the end of the day, the prize of the best poster was awarded to Ariyan Amirifar, Belén Fernández de Caleya Ramiro, George William Ssendagala and José Gustavo Varona Garcia. The poster "Sustainable bio-manufacturing of food and feed ingredients: terpenes production" was made within the frame of the Green Line Project.

They were congratulated by AgroParisTech’s Dean and Executive Director Laurent Buisson!

On the second day, the students attended a plenary session dedicated to participatory sciences (or "citizen sciences") with examples of projects in biodiversity and agro-ecology. Then they took actively part to a workshop related to the GS Biosphera’s thematic programme "Sustainable circular bioeconomy" were they could express their respective point of view on this thematic and make some suggestions for future activities. The diversity of their backgrounds (plant and microbial biotechnologies, food technology and chemical engineering) and their international experience contributed to a rich discussion.
